Done in by Leopard
Can’t remember if these are Leopards or not but this is certainly how I felt I am being done in by my Leopard upgrade. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Mac OS Software product line. I’m not sure where to start. First, the premier service I pay for called .Mac didn’t work at all. After I completely wiped my machine and installed fresh, I expected the usual sync with my .Mac to handle all my contacts, calendar and bookmarks. Nope, nothing what so ever. No matter what I tried I could not get anything sent/sync’ed from my .Mac account. My ‘restore’ option from the Mac backup software couldn’t do anything from my BACKUP on the backup drive. Speaking of my backup drive, it’s plugged into an Apple Extreme Base Station but can now only be recognized precisely once. After that I have to power down the station and back up for the Mac to see it again (same team guys!). The migration utility didn’t do anything that I wanted it to so was useless. I’m back to manually hacking ‘library’ directories. I can’t imagine what a normal user would do in this case. Let’s see how the next day goes.... DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HOW LONG IT MIGHT TAKE YOU TO MIGRATE TO OS X 10.5 ! Oh, and don’t forget to make a ‘backup’ and a copy of the entire drive before even attempting. These are the only things saving me from jumping off a glossy Apple Store roof at the moment.
(p.s. - Great, the .Mac site is down so you’ll have to read this later!!!)
